Rain.. Rail Track.. Trek : Glory of Dudhsagar - Part 1

Dudhsagar falls,Braganza Ghat and Monsoon. . . .what more can you expect . .?
As usual this is a rail track trek t-log,not easy trek though.
Its everyone's dream to visit Dudhsagar falls at least once in their lifetime.
My dream has come true in this Monsoon. Here is the showcase of my experience.
enjoy. . .

Me n my friends decided to scale Dudhsagar falls in monsoon season.
So,quickly we googled about Dudhsagar falls and collected some important info.

* Dudhsagar falls is 14kms from the Castle Rock station.
*Its 10 kms from Kulem Station.
*Trekking from Castle Rock side is more scenic than Kulem side.
*If trekking is not possible then take any goods train to arrive at the falls.
*All Goods train stops at Dudhsagar station.
*Passenger train request stop is available at Dudhsagar station.
*Dudhsagar falls is 1 kms from Dudhsagar station.
*Monsoon season is best time to witness glory of Dudhsagar falls.

With all these information we booked our train ticket in tatkal quota.
Boarded the MAS-VASCO exp train from Yeswanthpur,Bangalore on 6th july night.
We had our breakfast in Londa staion at 9:30am.Finally reached
Caastle Rock station by 10:30am.Packed our lunch items at the station canteen.
Castle Rock station is very scenic as it is covered by thick ever green forest.

At around 11am we started our venture.Saying good bye to Castle rock station,
we entered Braganza ghat section. At castle rock the km marking is 24/800,
that means castle rock station is 24 kms and 800mt from Londa junction.
In similar way dudhsagar falls is located at the marking 38/9.
38km and 900mt from londa station.
So,Dudhsagar falls is 14 km from Caste rock station.

Initial walk was covered with full of lush green scenery. Further we encounter
Dense forest range of Braganza ghat.
At 27/200 we encounter First tunnel of the ghat,ie,approximately 3km from
castle rock station.

First Tunnel

Crossing the first tunnel of the journey was very thrilling.
Still 10 more tunnels to go after this tunnel, largest being 500mt i think.

After crossing first tunnel, there is an abandoned station.
It consists of couple of rooms with no doors . . .
I think,Railway gang men used to stay here during night time.
U can notice the presence of liquor bottles, cigarettes, cards etc. .
It started raining heavily. No choice, we were forced to take shelter in that room itself. . .
After some times we started our journey towards Dudhsagar falls.
Quickly we encountered the 2nd tunnel.

This time we were lucky enough see goods train passing through
2nd tunnel with 5 back to back penta WDG4 engines . . .

and nearly 5.5km from Castle rock.

After crossing Karnataka Goa border, one can notice two beautiful
Mighty unknown falls . .May be they appear only in monsoons . .
