Kodachadri Trekking via Hidlumane Falls (day 2)

DAY 2: Kodachadri to Sarvajna Peetham ,Gaalipata shooting spot. At morning 6 am it was raining so heavy.Till 8:30am it was raining.We had our break fast,coffee and we were ready for trekking to Sarvajna peetham.Sarvajna peetham is the place where sankaracharya worshipped goddess lakshmi.After that laksmi killed Mooka sura and she was settled in kollur by neme Kolluru Mookambika.

We started from Kodachadri at 10:30am.Its around 1.5kms trek from guest house.Reached Sarvajna peetham at 11:15.


On the way to sarvajna peetham.Dense fog all over the trail.


enjoyed there and reached Kodachadri guest house at 12 noon.


The trekking is full of thick fog.Its so dense that we were not
able to see each other.

After reaching guest house we packed our luggage and started trekking down towards Kattina hole village.Which is 9km from guest house.From kattina hole nittur is 7kms.On the way to kattinahole we saw GAALIPATA shooting spot.

we spent around one hr there.

At that time heavy raining started.we opened our umbrellas and jerkins.But it was waste attempt to protect ourselves.It was so heavy that we couldn't able to protect our luggage also.
and within a momet jeep track was flooded with mountain water.

Somehow we walked in that rain.After so many halts and braeaks we reached Kattinahole.we were very much tired.
We got Some Mangoes from nearby old house and paid 40 bucks.Almost 1.5kg.

From Kattina hole we returned to Nittur via jeep and
paid him 250 bucks.

Kodachadri Trekking Via Hidlumane Falls

Difficulty level:8/10.
cost at guest house :500rs/head/day.
Nearest health camp:Nittur,Kattinahole,Sampekatte.
approach:There are 2 trekking trails available to reach koadachadri.
1)From karakatte gate and santosh hotel.this is the easy trek route.
It will take around 2.5-3 hrs to trek.
2)From nittur via hidlumane falls.this is the toughest trekking trail.
It will take around 4-5 hrs to trek.During monsoon season it is not
advisable.

Kodachadri Trekking via Hidlumane Falls (day 1)

After finishing BE exams,me and my friends planned to trek Kodachadri via Hidlumane Falls..Finally we 5 members booked train ticket to Shimoga and boarded train on 2nd July night.
3rd morning we reached shimoga.From shimoga nittur is around 110kms.We reached Nittur at 10:30 Am...We contacted kodachadri guest house person Mr.Rajendra and he arranged bathroom toilet in nittur..
we finished all our duty and packed our stuffs for trekking.Guide Vijay joined us in nittur.We had good breakfast in nittur and marched towards Hidlumane.





DAY 1: Nittur to Kodachadri

Started from nittur at 12:30.We reached Hidlumane at 1.15pm.



Hidlumane is the last House from where the actual trekking begins.From hidlumane the hidlumane falls is around 1km.

The path is full of blood sucking leeches.One must have to cross 2 big boulders to reach main Hidlumane falls.

This is the first part of the falls.


First boulder is quite easy.But the second one is giant boulder.During monsoon its very difficult to cross.Some how we managed to climb that and finally we reached Hidlumane Falls.. amazing..!! no words to explain after seeing that falls.

We spent around half an hour der only.


After saying good bye to falls we started towards Kodachadri.

This is the most difficult part of the trek.



its almost 70 degree steep to climb.

It took around 2 hours to reach the jeep track.

After reaching jeep track we got our lives back.


We heard from our guide that its again 4-5kms trek from here.But we felt happy that its jeep track till guest house not steep trekking.. :D.


Finally after 4 hours trek we reached Kodachadri guest house
at 4:30Pm.


Thank god only one leech bit me.My friend got bitten by 11-12 leeches..!!!!!

Fortunately sun was out after we reached guest house..suddenly sea of clouds approached us.


After spending some time we went to bed.
